Hockenheim FP3: And the rain pours down

< ► > After a day of glorious sunshine over Hockenheim, German Grand Prix qualifying day dawned with rain pelting down and as a result very little track action in the third free practice session, conditions such that qualifying is sure to be affected in some way. Six drivers did not even venture out on to the circuit at all – both Ferraris, both Mercedes and both Force Indias. Those who did spun or went wide as conditions proved undrivable without risking an off and damage. After a quarter of an hour running seized with Renault's Nico Hulkenberg the only driver to set a time of 1:36.873. Some teams calling it quits with 15 minutes to go in the one hour seassion....
