This was 'redemption', says Ricciardo

A jubilant Daniel Ricciardo has admitted that his superb Monaco Grand Prix win was 'redemption' for 2016, after a supreme drive despite suffering power issues from midway through the race, holding off the challenge of Sebastian Vettel for the precious victory. In 2016 Ricciardo was on pole and was in good shape until an error in the pit lane, where his tyres weren't ready to be fitted, cost him victory and has been playing on the Aussie's mind ever since.  Ricciardo was fastest for the entirety of the weekend and managed to overcome a testing spell mid-race, where power issues limited him to six gears, allowing Vettel to get close, but ultimately Red Bull prevailed.
