Verstappen crashes out of qualifying

Red Bull driver Max Verstappen made an error when he lost control of his Red Bull and crashed out of qualifying for the Bahrain Grand Prix. The Dutchman, who was fourth on the timing screens, was hard on the gas exiting Turn 2 but the rear snapped out and the Red Bull crunched into the barriers.  Verstappen cursed over the radio before declaring he was alright. His body language as he alighted the car and made his way back to the pits on the back of a scooter shouted frustration and disappointment. The incident prompted a red flag stoppage as marshalls removed the crumpled car. For Verstappen, it means he will start from (or around) 15th place on the grid for Sunday's race.
