Alonso completes first Toyota test

Fernando Alonso completed his first test of a Toyota LMP1 car at the World Endurance Championship's end-of-season rookie test in Bahrain on Sunday. Two-time F1 world champion Alonso racked up 113 laps in the No 8 Toyota TS050 Hybrid, posting a best time of 1:43.013. The test is seen as the first step to Alonso competing in next year's Le Mans 24 Hours as the Spaniard looks to complete motorsport's Triple Crown before he retires. "It was a great day," Alonso said. "Testing an LMP1 car is always a nice thing for any racing driver because these cars are amazing to drive.
