Nissan to take over from Renault as e.dams backer

Nissan will take over from Renault as the manufacturer support for the e.dams squad for the 2018/19 season. The Japanese manufacturer announced at the Tokyo Motor Show on Wednesday that it would be joining Formula E in place of another manufacturer. Renault is shortly expected to confirm its exit from the all-electric series. As part of the same automotive group, rumours have been circulating for several months about replacing the Renault brand with Nismo, allowing the French manufacturer to fully focus on its efforts on Formula 1.
