Gasly targeting Austin F1 race over Super Formula finale

Pierre Gasly says he would choose racing in the Formula 1 United States GP over contesting the Super Formula title in the season finale on the same weekend. Gasly, the reigning GP2 champion, replaced Daniil Kvyat at Toro Rosso for the Malaysian Grand Prix and finished 14th at Sepang. He will keep the seat for this weekend’s Japanese Grand Prix, but it remains unclear whether he will compete at the next race in Austin as it clashes with the Super Formula finale at Suzuka.
