Teams pick tyre choices for Japanese GP

McLaren have opted for the most aggressive strategy at the Suzuka circuit next weekend, with Mercedes and Ferrari splitting the same strategies between them. Fernando Alonso and Stoffel Vandoorne both have 10 sets of the supersoft tyres available to them as the likes of Red Bull and Renault also taking plenty of the red-striped compound. Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel have gone for a 5-7 split between softs and supersofts with one set of mediums apiece. Their respective team-mates Valtteri Bottas and Kimi Raikkonen have two sets of mediums apiece and lose a set of softs as a result.
