Renault revises procedures to improve reliability

Renault will alter its approach to the Austrian Grand Prix in a bid to eliminate the reliability problems that plagued some of its Formula 1 engines in Azerbaijan. The French manufacturer's F1 engines were more competitive in Baku, after Renault introduced revised software mapping and engine modes to boost horsepower. Renault F1 boss Cyril Abiteboul estimated the new modes were worth 0.2 seconds per lap, but although Red Bull's Max Verstappen almost outqualified the Ferraris and teammate Daniel Ricciardo won the race from 10th on the grid, Renault also suffered several reliability problems.
