Official Starting Grid – F1 2017 Australian GP

Local hero Daniel Ricciardo's Australian Grand Prix expectations have been dealt another blow with confirmation of a five-place grid penalty for Sunday's season-opening race in Melbourne. Ricciardo slammed into the barrier during qualifying on Saturday and his Red Bull RB13 car suffered rear end damage and prompted the team to change the gearbox. Williams F1 rookie Lance Stroll were also handed five-place grid penalties for gearbox changes in Melbourne. One more penalty for Williams – they handed a 25,000 fine, suspended for the entirety of the season, after failing to inform the FIA of its intention to change the gearbox in Lance Stroll's FW40.
