Nelson Piquet makes it a home win!

Nelson Piquet won his first home race in Brazil on this day in 1983 at Jacarepagua. With the exception of the first few laps led by Keke Rosberg's Williams, Piquet dominated the race behind the wheel of Gordon Murray's beautiful BMW-powered BT52. It was the Brazilian's eight Grand Prix win.
