Interview: Pirelli on Formula 1's new era

– Formula 1 will introduce all-new technical regulations in 2017, focused on revised aerodynamics and much wider tyres. GPUpdate.net gets the lowdown from Pirelli Motorsport Director Paul Hembery.For the new season, sole supplier Pirelli is producing tyres which are 25 per cent wider than the 2016 specification, the fronts extending from 245 to 305mm, with the rears going from 325 to 405mm.Pirelli sampled 96 prototypes over 24 days of testing with mule cars supplied by Mercedes, Red Bull and Ferrari, hitting a mileage total of 12,148km, almost 40 standard Grand Prix distances.It presented its full 2017 tyre range at the 2016 season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.How did it feel to...
