Red Bull technical director Pierre Wache has committed his Formula 1 future to the Milton Keynes-based team after signing a much-improved contract earlier this year.

RacingNews365 understands that after he signed a long-term contract in mid-2023, he soon put pen to paper again in February to sign an upgraded contract.

That brand new deal ties the Frenchman to Red Bull through the end of 2028.

In doing so, Wache appears to have sent a clear signal to other teams interested in the Frenchman's knowledge.

Ferrari in particular was keen to seek out Wache's services in 2023, according to Italian media.

With the bolstered contract, however, a move to Maranello does not seem to be imminent.

There's no doubt, therefore, that the Scuderia outfit will set its sights on Adrian Newey in the near future.

Newey will depart the Red Bull organisation in early 2025 and has already scaled back his involvement with the reigning world champions.

As a result of Newey's exit, Wache will take responsibility for the development of the 2026 car which will be constructed under a new set of technical regulations.

In recent years, the Frenchman has been increasingly identified as the technical brains behind Red Bull Racing's success on the track.

However, Newey's input will also have been large, especially considering the mega salary the famous engineer earned in recent years.

For Wache, an important period in his career is dawning as he takes greater responsibility for the Red Bull F1 project.
