Marko: Don’t know where Gasly to Alpine talk came from
Helmut Marko has admitted that he does not know where rumours of Pierre Gasly joining Alpine came from, describing the Frenchman as a 'great fit' for AlphaTauri. Gasly has been mighty impressive since losing his Red Bull drive midway through the 2019 season, securing two podiums and a race win, including a third-place finish at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix last weekend. The 25-year-old's form has prompted talk that he could be set for a move away from the Red Bull programme, but Marko insisted that he was the 'ideal ambassador for AlphaTauri'. “With AlphaTauri, the package fits perfectly,' he told Auto Motor und Sport.
