No major damage on Leclerc's gearbox after initial check

Scuderia Ferrari noted on Saturday evening that the initial inspection did not reveal any major damage on Charles Leclerc's gearbox, but the team will only decide on Sunday morning whether the Monegasque can race with it. The qualifying session for the Monaco Grand Prix ended in a somewhat unusual way after the final run saw Leclerc clip the barrier at the exit of the Swimming Pool, breaking his suspension before cannoning into the wall and bringing out the red flags. The incident prevented his main rival Max Verstappen from improving his previous lap time with the Monegasque ending the session fastest despite his crash.
