Norris thwarted in qualifying by timing and unperfect lap
Lando Norris says a combination of poor timing and a failure to produce a flawless lap left him stranded in Q2 on Saturday evening in Sakhir. The McLaren driver was forced to abort his first effort in the second segment of qualifying due to traffic while he just didn't get on top of his second lap, leaving the Briton 15th overall on Sunday's grid. "Q1 run one was alright, one mistake on it but it was still a decent lap," Norris said. "But Q2 we went out too early, basically, which meant I had to do a very slow out-lap to make sure I didn't catch the traffic at the end or halfway around my lap.
