Stroll keeps maiden pole after investigation

Lance Stroll has been cleared of any alleged wrongdoing by stewards at Formula 1’s Turkish Grand Prix and has retained his maiden pole position. Stroll set the quickest lap during a rain-hit qualifying session at Istanbul Park to beat Max Verstappen to a shock pole position on Saturday. But his top spot was put in doubt after stewards launched an investigation over whether he had ignored yellow flags at Turn 7. A single yellow flag had been waved in the wake of Racing Point team-mate Sergio Perez spinning on the exit of the corner. Stewards determined that Stroll had set fast mini-sector times but that “the track was rapidly drying and each lap was quicker than the preceding lap....
