Verstappen plays down Belgium F1 pole chances despite strong Friday

Verstappen topped the time-sheets in second practice ahead of Renault’s Daniel Ricciardo with the Mercedes duo of Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas only managing third and sixth fastest. Mercedes has taken pole at every race this season and Verstappen expects this trend to continue into Saturday’s qualifying. “I personally think they [Mercedes] are still struggling a bit with the balance so I expect them to be stronger tomorrow,” Verstappen said. “You can see already in the...
