Grosjean: Haas future ‘elephant in the room'

Romain Grosjean has described Haas’ F1 future as the “elephant in the room” in regard to planning beyond the end of this year. Speculation has been rife about whether team owner Gene Haas may decide to pull the plug on his F1 project, having failed so far to carry the fight to the leading constructors since their arrival in 2016. So far this term, Haas and Williams are the two teams not to have scored points at either of the first two races of the season in Austria. With a new Concorde Agreement yet to be finalised that would tie constructors down to remaining in the sport, Haas has the opportunity to close his team and withdraw without penalty.
