Budget cap a "great change for the midfield teams" - Gasly
Pierre Gasly has hailed the introduction of a budget cap into Formula 1 as a "great change", with the Frenchman believing it will finally close the gap between the front-running teams and the midfield. In establishing the 2021 regulations, F1 put into legislation the first budget cap in the sport's history. Article continues under video When the Covid-19 pandemic pushed back these regulations, certain teams campaigned for the $175 million cap to be reduced, and a compromise of $145m was agreed.
