Report: Only small updates for Ferrari in Austria

Reports that Ferrari would bring a radically overhauled SF1000 to the first race of the 2020 Formula 1 season in Austria are untrue, according to German media. Per Auto Motor und Sport, the car that will drive at the Red Bull Ring from July 3-5 will be much the same as the one that appeared at preseason testing in Barcelona. Suggesting F1's hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic 'stimulated the imagination' of Italian media, AMuS reports that mooted chassis upgrades – a slimmer nose, stiffer gearbox and new rear axle – would require more tokens than are available under the system F1 recently agreed to use to limit spending on development.
