Carlin in favour of double-headers for F1

F2 team owner Trevor Carlin says it is a 'great idea' to start the F1 season with double-headers, especially if they include Formula 2 on the bill. The season-opening Australian GP was cancelled at the 11th hour with nine additional races either postponed or cancelled. Formula 1 bosses are hopeful of getting the championship underway in Austria in July before moving onto England. Both the Red Bull Ring and Silverstone are being slated to host double-headers on consecutive weekends. 'What I heard is this Red Bull Ring double-header, Silverstone double-header plan and they would try to incorporate F2 and F3 into that,' Carlin told Reuters.
