Legality of Mercedes W11 under scrutiny as trick steering system revealed
The legality of the Mercedes W11 has come under scrutiny on the second day of Formula 1 pre-season testing as a trick steering system has reportedly been uncovered. Onboard footage with Lewis Hamilton on Thursday showed the six-time champion moving the steering wheel in a backwards/forwards motion (i.e. closer/further away from him). The Briton was able to pull the steering wheel towards him as he entered the long start/finish straight, before pushing it away as he came to the end of the straight.
