Alonso: Maybe Formula 1 in 2021
Double Formula 1 World Champion Fernando Alonso might be to be stepping up his bid to return to Formula 1 by making himself available for the 2021 season should a winning team come calling. The Spaniard, who quit McLaren and F1 at the end of last year, was back doing the rounds in the paddock at Yas Marina Circuit. One observer even saw the 38-year-old, who will tackle the Dakar rally and the Indy 500 next year, in conversation with Liberty Media officials. Alonso then told reporters that he is keeping the door to F1 open for 2021, 'I'm doing Dakar in January which is a big challenge and next year hopefully Indy is in the plan again.
