Pierre Gasly perplexed by Hungarian Grand Prix pace drop off

Pierre Gasly says he and Red Bull need to understand why his performance deteriorated throughout the Hungarian Grand Prix weekend, as his struggles continued. Gasly led the way in a rain-hit second practice session on Friday but qualified only sixth, almost a second down on pole-sitting team-mate Max Verstappen, and lost further ground at the start. Gasly recovered positions to finish sixth but finished behind McLaren’s Carlos Sainz Jr. and was lapped by the sister car of Verstappen. “It started pretty well during the weekend, and then from FP3 onwards just lost a lot of pace and struggled a lot more with grip in general,” said Gasly. “Qualifying was difficult, it...
