Verstappen delighted to claim 'missing' pole position

Hungarian Grand Prix – Max Verstappen cut a relieved figure as he finally claimed his first Formula 1 pole position. Having had few opportunities to challenge for first place in qualifying in his career, the Red Bull man succeeded and pipped Valtteri Bottas to the top spot, becoming the 100th different Formula 1 pole-sitter in the process. Under pressure from both Mercedes and Ferrari, he took pole by just 0.018 of a second to give himself the best chance of victory around the tight Hungaroring circuit.
