Lauda replaced on Mercedes board of directors

Hungarian Grand Prix – Mercedes have announced the appointment of new board members, including Niki Lauda's replacement as non-executive chairman. Mercedes Grand Prix have confirmed the nomination of a new non-executive chairman to take over the role left vacant by Niki Lauda, following the Austrian's death in May. Lauda had worked in that role with Mercedes since 2012, and was instrumental in tempting Lewis Hamilton away from McLaren to join Merc for 2013. Lauda would continue in his role as non-executive chairman until his death from kidney issues after a period of ill health in the second half of 2018 and into 2019.
