Canadian Grand Prix officials unveil new $44m pit building

Canadian officials launched their new pit and paddock building at the Gilles Villeneuve Circuit this week ahead of the Canadian Grand Prix next month. The impressive structure replaces a much smaller building which was constructed in 1988 and has been added to over the years, but has felt out of place when compared to rival venues on the Formula 1 calendar. As part of the circuit's new contract to continue hosting F1 through 2029 was the caveat that the facilities be upgraded. In order to achieve this, both the local government and the Société du parc Jean Drapeau have stepped in to help with the project. The launch of the new CDN$59 million ($44m, £34m)...
