F1 hints at new alternative penalty system
Formula One could be set to make further changes to the current grid penalty system. In a fan survey carried out by F1 Fan Voice, it was noted that fans were dissatisfied with the current systems in place and asked for other options to replace the existing rules. The research concluded the existing system was turning fans off of the sport. Current penalties have been criticised as being overly complicated and can ruin a race due to fast drivers being hit with penalties for reasons out of their control.
