Verstappen handed five-place grid penalty for gearbox change

Max Verstappen will be starting the US Grand Prix from further back than he imagined after Red Bull was forced to change his gearbox overnight. During qualifying one, Verstappen ran over the exit curbs of turn 15, damaging his driveshaft and gearbox. Instead of starting in P13 on the grid, the Dutchman will now line up in 18th, ahead of the two Toro Rosso's who are taking penalties of their own due to power unit and gearbox changes. A possible fightback through the field could be on once again for the charging Red Bull driver.
