Abiteboul hails Sainz for his performances at Renault

Cyril Abiteboul has hailed Carlos Sainz for his performances inside the Renault cockpit. Sainz confirmed earlier in the week that he will be moving to McLaren next season. Renault will stick with Nico Hulkenberg while new signing Daniel Ricciardo slots in for Sainz. The 23-year-old was under contract at Red Bull and on a 'loan type' deal at Renault. In a message posted on Renault's Twitter account yesterday, the team boss commented on his driver. "Despite an unusual situation, through his relentless work and natural talent, Carlos has been a great contributor to the progress made by the team since joining us last year," Abiteboul said. "I wish him the best for 2019 onwards...
