Alonso to run Indy 500 helmet for United States GP

Fernando Alonso will run a tribute to his Indianapolis 500 helmet at the United States Grand Prix on his first return to the country since his headline-grabbing debut at the iconic race. Alonso opted to miss the Monaco Grand Prix in order to take on his maiden Indy 500 as part of a deal between McLaren-Honda-Andretti. The two-time Formula 1 world champion was running seventh before heartbreak struck with 20 laps to go when his Honda engine failed.
