What if Ocon had not had his seat at Manor?
A career in Formula 1 does not always mean much. Esteban Ocon knows something. It was the opportunity to replace Rio Haryanto at Manor for the second half of the 2016 season that allowed the Mercedes protege to prove himself in Formula 1. These first steps in the top echelon of motorsport led to him obtaining the prized seat at Force India for the 2017 season. And now that he's with a midfield squad, he is flaunting his talent. But what would have happened if he had not got the seat at Manor in the first place? “To be honest, I have never thought about it! Never!” Ocon told the official F1 site. “I probably would have finished the DTM season with the hope of entering F1 in 2017....
