The F1 shield revealed!
Check out the first images of the latest cockpit protection system being trialled by the FIA - The Shield - as the sport continues to weigh up its options for 2018. Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel will become the first driver to run with the device on his car in Friday's first practice session at the British GP. The FIA describes it as a "transparent open canopy system constructed using polycarbonate" aimed at "providing significant protection from debris, while ensuring unrestricted forward vision for the driver". Indoor and outdoor tests are outgoing with work to define the final geometry, with a first full test planned for September's Italian GP. The FIA has committed to...
