Vettel admits he “overreacted” in Hamilton clash

Sebastian Vettel has confessed that his swerve into Lewis Hamilton behind the safety car in the Azerbaijan Grand Prix was an over-reaction. Shortly after the FIA decided that there were no grounds to take further action against Vettel for his move, with the Ferrari driver having said sorry to the governing body in private, the four-time champion issued a public apology for what happened. It was the first time that Vettel had admitted that he had done anything wrong, with his stance immediately following the incident being simply that Hamilton should have been penalised for brake testing him.
