Hamilton on top as F1's new era begins
– Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton topped the times as Formula 1's new era got under way with pre-season testing at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on Monday, just ahead of Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel.Hamilton took over from new team-mate Valtteri Bottas in the afternoon and worked his way down to a 1:21.765 on Soft tyres, beating his pole position time for last year's Grand Prix, held at the same venue.Vettel, who topped the morning, finished just over a tenth of a second back, his best time coming on the Medium rubber, as he racked up the most individual mileage (126 laps).Mercedes led the overall lap charts, however, with Hamilton completing 73, and Bottas racking up 79, totalling...
