No 'Halo' over Indy cars

Efforts to improve cockpit safety have ramped up since Justin Wilson was killed by flying debris in an Indycar race in 2015. While Formula 1 has taken the matter into its own hands with the development of the 'Halo' safety device which could be introduced as early as next year, Indycar has said that it will not put the 'Halo' up for consideration. "We don't see that - the Halo - having any possibility for us," said Mark Miles, CEO of Indycar's parent company. "We have banked tracks and you can't see out of the car with that.
