Bite-size tech: Mercedes 'spoon' rear wing

It seems that Mercedes will once again use the 'Spoon' rear wing they last used in Baku, as it has prepared its car for scrutineering with it. The spoon design is not a new concept and has been used in different guises down the years, most recently by Mercedes itself last season. However, this year a change in the regulations has allowed it to expand the lower central portion of the wing by 50mm up from 150mm to 200mm, allowing a less abrupt transition to the curvature of the mainplane and top flap.
