Buemi and Red Bull take over 2017 Pirelli testing duties

2015/16 Formula E champion Sebastien Buemi took to the Mugello circuit on Wednesday as Red Bull Racing took over from Scuderia Ferrari in testing the 2017 Pirelli tyres. Buemi was testing a Formula 1 car for the first time since 2014, and completed 82 laps of the Italian circuit in a modified 2015 RB11 with a revised floor to simulate 2017 downforce levels, with slick tyres being blind tested by the Red Bull team on Wednesday. Pirelli had tested with Ferrari at Fiorano on both Monday and Tuesday, with Sebastian Vettel and Esteban Gutierrez testing wet weather intermediate and full wet tyres, but Red Bull had the opportunity to run slick tyres.
