Hamilton relieved Q3 'risk' paid off
– Lewis Hamilton expressed his relief at claiming pole position for the Austrian Grand Prix after backing off from one of his late hot laps in Q3.Drivers started the final phase on the Intermediate tyres, but soon made the switch to slicks as the resurfaced Red Bull Ring dried out.Hamilton ultimately came out on top in a thrilling finale, clocking a 1:07.922 with his final lap, half a second up on team-mate Nico Rosberg.Speaking after the session, Hamilton revealed that he effectively abandoned his penultimate lap to ensure a traffic-free run to the flag."It was a really fun session," said Hamilton after qualifying."It's quite incredible how it dries up so quickly...
