Sebastian Vettel quickest on opening day of F1 test in Barcelona

Scuderia Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel was the quickest on the opening day of Formula 1 in-season testing at the Circuit de Catalunya on Tuesday. Vettel set a lap time of 1m 23.220s to finish the test ahead of Nico Rosberg. For much of the day, the Maranello-based outfit focused on qualifying simulations with soft tyres as they looked to recreate conditions from the weekend. Rosberg set a lap time for Mercedes AMG PETRONAS that was only 0.117s down on Vettel. Jenson Button showed promise as he topped the times in the morning session with a lap time of 1m 23.753s, this remained his fastest lap for the day.
