Alonso says he 'respects' FIA decision

– McLaren-Honda driver Fernando Alonso says he "understands" and "respects" the FIA's decision to rule him out of this weekend's Bahrain Grand Prix on medical grounds.Alonso suffered a sizeable accident in Australia when he clipped the rear of Esteban Gutiérrez's Haas, flew into the air, hit a wall, repeatedly flipped over and landed upside down.Although he was able to walk away from the incident, Alonso underwent a precautionary CT scan upon returning to his native Spain, which revealed a pneumothorax.In Bahrain on Thursday, this was compared with a new scan and, despite the pneumothorax clearing, rib fractures remain, and doctors feel they pose too much...
