Smith leaves Sauber ahead of new season

– Sauber technical chief Mark Smith has left the Swiss outfit just days before the new Formula 1 campaign gets under way, it was announced on Tuesday.Smith, previously of Jordan, Red Bull, Force India and Caterham, officially joined Sauber as its Technical Director last July, the squad's first since 2012."The Technical Director of the Sauber F1 Team, Mark Smith, has decided to go back to the UK for family reasons," read a brief statement issued by the outfit."He has already left the company."We would like to thank Mark for his efforts and we wish him all the best for his future."Sauber is yet to comment on a potential replacement.
