Leclerc becomes Ferrari/Haas youngster
GP3 Media Service Ferrari has confirmed that GP3 racer Charles Leclerc will join the outfit's academy and act as a development driver for both the Maranello-based outfit and newcomers Haas. Leclerc finished fourth in European F3 last year and will make his GP3 debut with ART this year, which guided Mercedes/Renault young gun Esteban Ocon to the title in 2015. Leclerc will act as a development driver for Ferrari and Haas, while fellow academy member Antonio Fuoco will occupy the same role at Ferrari. Ferrari has also confirmed that Giuliano Alesi, son of former Formula 1 driver Jean, will join its academy this season as he prepares to race for Trident, alongside Fuoco.
