Lotus alters practice run plan due to weather

– Lotus has altered its run plan for the opening day of practice at the United States Grand Prix, due to the poor weather conditions arriving at the Circuit of the Americas.Reserve driver Jolyon Palmer had been set to take part in FP1, his 11th outing of the season, but with rainfall set to increase throughout the day, he will now appear in FP2.This will in theory allow regular driver Romain Grosjean, who is preparing to leave Lotus for Haas F1 Team at the end of the campaign, to run in better weather conditions.
