Newey: Mercedes, Ferrari scared to supply Red Bull engines
Adrian Newey believes that Red Bull could be forced out of Formula 1 because Mercedes and Ferrari are too scared to offer an engine supply for 2016. Red Bull is currently facing an engine crisis after agreeing to part company with existing power unit supplier Renault at the end of the season without a firm replacement. Mercedes has already rejected a deal with Red Bull, while Ferrari is reported to have also decided against the move, although talks with Toro Rosso are understood to be ongoing. With just four races remaining, Red Bull is scrambling to find an engine supply for 2016 and ensure that both of its teams do not fall off the grid at the cost of over 1,000 jobs. Speaking...
