Merhi: ‘Things are starting to come my way'

Manor's Roberto Merhi says that he feels his fortunes are beginning to improve as the season approaches its halfway point. The Spanish driver scored a second place finish last weekend for Pons Racing in WSR, but has also seen an upswing in his performances in Formula 1. Since his F1 debut in Malaysia this year, Merhi has been outpaced and outraced by team-mate Will Stevens as both adjusted to their new racing car. Speaking in Monaco, Merhi explained that his weight was putting him at a disadvantage, partly due to the Manor car and engine weighing a little more than more recent designs from other teams and manufacturers.
