Merhi chooses F1 over FR3.5 for Monaco

Roberto Merhi will continue to drive for Manor Racing at this week's Monaco Grand Prix having gotten out of his clashing commitment in the Formula Renault 3.5 Championship. Though the Spaniard is competing race-by-race with Manor alongside Will Stevens in F1, he is also campaigning a full season in FR3.5 with Pons Racing having finished third overall in the series last year. However, with FR3.5 on the F1 support package for the Monaco race, it wasn't clear whether Merhi would be contractually obliged to compete in the lower tier series or be allowed to compete in both.
