Yelloly impresses in maiden F1 test

Nick Yelloly caught the eye during his first-ever F1 test for Force India as he turned in a faster lap than Nico Hulkenberg and Sergio Perez achieved during qualifying for Spanish Grand Prix. The British driver was originally scheduled to drive the VJM08 on Wednesday, but was given an earlier call-up when Pascal Wehrlein was struck with illness. Despite this, Yelloly swiftly adapted to the car, completing more than 100 laps and turning in the sixth fastest time of 1min 27.396secs – 1.5secs faster than race drivers Hulkenberg and Perez managed during qualifying for the Spanish Grand Prix.
