Friday Practice picture with Pirelli

Pirelli’s Paul Hembery was surprised by the low levels of degradation after Friday practice for the Australian Grand Prix. While between medium and high down-force, the Albert Park circuit usually takes multiple sessions to give any indication of race grip levels due to its temporary nature, but even today’s low wear rate came as a surprise to Hembery.  “It’s a low severity circuit from our [Pirelli’s] point of view. Its low abrasion and very low in terms of lateral” said Hembery. “Braking can be between medium and high, but it’s not a great issue and we’re seeing very low levels of wear.
