Magnussen feels unready to stand in for Alonso
Kevin Magnussen says that he doesn't feel quite ready to fill in for Fernando Alonso, should he be required to. The Dane, demoted to the role of test and reserve driver at McLaren this year after the hiring of Fernando Alonso, probably wasn't expecting to have to consider the prospect of having to drive the MP4/30 quite so soon. However, that's exactly the situation that has unfolded after Fernando Alonso's testing smash at Circuit Di Catalunya last week. With Alonso being advised by doctors to rest, Magnussen was drafted in to replace the Spaniard at the final test.
